Palubinsky Appointed MCIU Executive Director

NORRISTOWN PA – Dr. Regina Speaker Palubinsky, currently superintendent of the Great Valley School District and former assistant superintendent for the Phoenixville Area School District, has been named executive director of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, according to MontCo Today. She is scheduled to succeed Dr. John George, who is retiring after six years as MCIU’s leader. No start date was announced.

“Palubinsky was elected to the position after a ‘very competitive interview process’,” the newsletter reported, citing comments by MCIU Board President Maura Buri.

The MCIU is a public organization that provides educational and other services, and group purchasing power to county school districts including Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Spring-Ford Area, and Perkiomen Valley. Pottsgrove school board President Robert Lindgren is the district’s representative on the MCIU Board of Directors that selected Palubinsky. The MCIU assistant executive director is Dr. Brad Landis, former Pottsgrove superintendent.

Palubinsky also formerly served as special assistant to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education for the state Department of Education. Additionally, she has been a graduate instructor and staff-development provider for various school districts, universities, and businesses.
