Tower Health Adding Virtual Visit Platforms

READING PA – Virtual care capabilities that may help address local residents’ COVID-19 needs, as well as other healthcare conditions, have been implemented by Tower Health online, with downloadable Apple and Android apps, and by toll-free phone at 855-511-6502, it announced Thursday (April 9, 2020).

Tower said it chose and implemented the New York-based Teladoc Health virtual care platform “to provide 24/7 on-demand … affordable care” for area residents from the comfort of their homes. Virtual visits with physicians are available around the clock at a cost of $45, payable at the time of the visit, it added.

Commonly treated conditions for virtual visits include cold and flu symptoms, respiratory infection, pink eye, bronchitis, urinary tract infection, rashes, and seasonal allergies, Tower reported. When asked for an access code, users should type in or provide the word “Tower.” Due to high healthcare demand nationwide, Tower warned patients may experience longer than usual wait times when calling toll-free.

Additionally, any individual concerned about COVID-19 infection can access Teladoc for a clinical assessment and guidance on next steps.
