Cable Crew Delays Gilbertsville Traffic Thursday

GILBERTSVILLE PA – A crew of about four workers, whose truck identified them as representing J&W Cable Inc. of Bedford PA, were busy for several hours Thursday (April 3, 2020) installing cables on utility poles (at top) over a portion of East Philadelphia Avenue from Merkel to Congo roads.

Flaggers were present at each end of the work zone, and periodically stopped traffic in one direction for up to four minutes while drivers from the opposite direction passed by.

The day’s temperatures seemed pleasant for the work, with bright sun and intermittent clouds, but winds blew through the area at between 15 and 25 miles an hour, accompanied by slightly higher gusts. AccuWeather predicts the wind was a precursor to the chance of a passing shower or two later Friday (today, April 3, 2020). See its forecast, here.
