Township Advertises Two Bridges’ Weight Limits

TOWNSHIP ADVERTISES BRIDGE WEIGHT LIMITS – Weight limit restrictions on the North Adams Street (at top) and Pruss Hill Road bridges in Lower Pottsgrove, and empowering police to enforce them, are already being advertised after approval to publish announcements regarding them was granted Thursday (Dec. 19, 2019) by the township Board of Commissioners. A 15-ton limit for most vehicles on the North Adams bridge crossing Sprogels Run, and a 5-ton limit for the Pruss Hill bridge over Sanatoga Creek, were set by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after inspections. Deterioration of the North Adams bridge was reported to the board earlier this month. Commissioners followed PennDOT’s advice and imposed restrictions as quickly as possible. They are expected to be included in the township code as part of a vote scheduled for the board’s first meeting of the new year, Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd. Traffic was seen moving briskly Sunday (Dec. 22) over the North Adams bridge.
