STOWE PA – Eastbound U.S. Route 422 will be closed and detoured Monday (March 11, 2019) overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., from the split with Benjamin Franklin Highway in Douglass Township to Route 100 in North Coventry, for barrier adjustments that will allow the reopening Tuesday morning (March 12) of the just-built Stowe ramp to 422 East, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
Crews will reset barriers and adjust traffic patterns to reopen the newly constructed Stowe interchange ramp Tuesday by 5 a.m. PennDOT already re-opened, on Thursday afternoon (March 7) both westbound 422 ramps at Stowe. The ramp from eastbound 422 to Stowe, however, remains closed and detoured for reconstruction.
During the 422 closure, its eastbound drivers will be directed to continue on Benjamin Franklin Highway and West High Street, and then turn right onto southbound Route 100 to access its ramp to eastbound 422.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area. Backups and slowdowns will occur, according to PennDOT. All scheduled activities depend on weather conditions.
