POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown Hospital, a subsidiary of Reading PA-based Tower Health, has earned accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the next three years from the American College of Radiology, the hospital reported Wednesday (June 6, 2018).
MRI is a non-invasive medical test that uses magnetic fields to produce images of internal body parts. Physicians rely on it to diagnose and treat medical conditions. During the accreditation process, the college reviewed the hospital’s image quality, personnel qualifications, the adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures, and its quality assurance programs.
The hospital’s emergency room, the second-busiest in Montgomery County, sees more than 45,000 patients a year.
