POTTSTOWN PA – There’s been progress among members of the Pottstown School District Board of School Directors in whittling down the anticipated district preliminary budget deficit for the 2018-2019 academic year. In the period between March 8 (2018) and Thursday (April 12), it’s dropped by more than $676,000, spokesman and board member John Armato reports.
There’s more work to do, he concedes. The budget still carries an adjusted shortfall of $356,763. That likely will be a matter of discussion when the board meets April 19 (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Pottstown High School, 750 N. Washington St., for a budget update presentation. The meeting is free to attend and open to the public.

Armato said the board would welcome comment from its taxpayers on its efforts so far, and suggestions for further balancing the spending plan.
