DOUGLASSVILLE PA – Two Pottstown men were apprehended and arrested Sunday (Jan. 28, 2018) by Amity Township Police Department officers in a parking lot at the Douglassville Shopping Center, 1179 Benjamin Franklin Hwy. West, after law enforcement agencies were alerted they may have been involved in an alleged “gunpoint robbery” that occurred in Exeter, the department reported.
Charged were borough residents Alec Glenn Stillman, 35, with carrying a firearm without a license; and Anthony Rains, 35, with resisting arrest, according to a report posted Monday (Jan. 29) on the police website.
Police in Amity, Exeter, Birdsboro, and Caernarvon, as well as Pennsylvania state troopers, received information that “three male suspects in a black Cadillac were possibly armed and dangerous, and traveling eastbound on Benjamin Franklin Highway,” the report stated. Only “moments” after that notice was delivered, Amity police said, the suspects “pulled into the Redner’s Warehouse parking lot” at the shopping center.
A department patrol initiated a vehicle stop, the report added. Details of what later transpired were not made available on the website.
