NORTH COVENTRY PA – A woman driving a car Monday (Sept. 11, 2017) at about 6 a.m. north on the 1300 block of Unionville Road sustained injuries and was transported to a Reading area hospital after the vehicle swerved across the road, hit an embankment and rolled over, trapping her inside, according to a North Coventry Police Department report.
Police identified the driver in the single-car accident as Kimberly Darlington, but did not provide her age or home address. They said she was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica when, witnesses claim, it “went off the roadway for unknown reasons.”
“Witnesses observed Darlington’s Pacifica travel into the south bound lane and cross back over the north bound lane onto the shoulder,” the police report stated. “The Pacifica struck two mailboxes and an embankment,” then “went up the embankment and came back down. When the Pacifica returned to the edge of the road, the vehicle rolled onto its left side. It continued to travel south on Unionville Road until it came to a rest,” the report added.
Besides police, first responders to the crash included the North Coventry Fire Company and Goodwill Ambulance. Firefighters extricated Darlington from her vehicle, and Goodwill transported her for medical evaluation. As of Tuesday (Sept. 12) there was no immediately available report on her condition or the extent of her injuries.
The vehicle was said to have sustained “moderate damage.” It was removed from the scene by Douglassville Auto Body.
