Patrons enjoy the cluster’s September fund-raiser dinner and concert
POTTSTOWN PA – The fifth annual “Open Your Heart” fund-raising dinner and concert held last month at Sunnybrook Ballroom raised about $36,000 to support programs and services of the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities, cluster Development and Communications Director Kimberly Dent reported Friday (Oct., 21, 2016).
These funds will allow the cluster to assist Pottstown residents struggling financially to maintain adequate food and clothing for their families, receive educational services to gain greater stability, and providing home heating oil when its cost is more than a family can afford, she said in a press release. The cluster, which next year observes its 50th anniversary, is a non-profit organization that provides for basic needs like food, clothing, personal care products, and housing, for local residents living in poverty.
The Sept. 24 concert and dinner featured local artists Maggie Riker, David Heffner, Jason Switzer, and Dr. Myra Forrest. The cluster thanked event sponsors Video Ray, Cody Systems, and Richard and Paula Dhein, along with other sponsors and guests, for their direct donations, auction item bids, and raffle ticket purchases. They “made the event a great success,” according to Dent.
