POTTSTOWN PA – Dr. David DiMattio of Royersford will become vice president of the Montgomery County Community College West Campus, on College Drive, beginning June 6 (2016; Monday), it announced. DiMattio will oversee all aspects of campus operations, serve as a a member of the president’s cabinet, and supervise expanding the college’s outreach to Greater Pottstown.
DiMattio began working at the college during March 2014 as dean of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Under his leadership, the college introduced new programs in environmental studies, cybersecurity, interactive media, database management, biotechnology and biomanufacturing.
He also led development of the Sustainability and Innovation Hub in Pottstown. It features teaching laboratories for aquaponics, hydroponics and engineering technology, along with a new Software Developer Academy that will launch in June.
Before arriving at the college, DiMattio served as dean of Clare College at St. Bonaventure University in New York. He holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and master of science and bachelor of science degrees in physics from St. Bonaventure University.
