POTTSTOWN PA – In a follow-up to their promise to enforce curfew laws as a means to prevent further vehicle break-ins experienced on borough streets in recent weeks, Pottstown police on Monday (July 6, 2015) said they made 17 arrests at the start of the Independence Day weekend holiday.
The announcement, on the police department Facebook page, said Pottstown was assisted by the New Hanover Police department in “aggressively” targeting areas where break-ins occurred earlier. Officers “during the late hours of July 2 into July 3” (Thursday-Friday overnight) reportedly made 13 curfew arrests, two drug arrests (heroin and marijuana), one underage drinking arrest, and one public drunkenness arrest.
Police again reminded area residents to “lock your vehicle and take out any valuables. Call the police if you witness any suspicious persons or activity.”
