Pottstown Calling For Bids On Repairs To 75 Manholes

POTTSTOWN PA – There could be a whole ‘lotta road repair work goin’ on soon in the borough of Pottstown. The borough had a legal advertisement published Wednesday (April 18, 2012) that announced it would seek bids for the repair of 75 manhole locations on Pottstown’s streets and elsewhere. The text of the notice appears below:


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that online sealed bids for the Manhole frame repair project for 2012 will be received by the Borough Council of the Borough of Pottstown until 3:00 P.M. prevailing time on Monday, May 7, 2012 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for: MANHOLE REPAIR – 75 Manhole locations – work will include excavating, removing existing MH frames, & installing new MH frames if needed complete and street restoration Supplying & Placing Super Pave 9.5 mm WC PG 64-22, .3-3 M ESAL’S, SRL-H at the various locations (PREVAILING WAGE RATES)

Bids will be received online via PennBid Program and Bid Specifications, proposal and contract forms are available at no cost at – www.PennBid.net. A bid bond, a certified check or cashier’s check drawn to the order of the Borough of Pottstown in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid must be submitted to the Borough of Pottstown prior to the bid opening. as Bid Security, which will be returned after the award of the contract. Bids may not be withdrawn Sixty (60) days after the time affixed for the bid opening.

The Borough of Pottstown reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof in the best interests of the Borough. All bidders are invited to attend a Pre-bid Meeting to be held at 10:00 A.M. (Prevailing Time) on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the office of the Borough Manager, Borough Hall 100 E.High Street, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
