The South Keim Street bridge still needs millions of dollars in repairs if it is to be re-opened, 12 months after being declared unsound. The good news, a local engineer has reported, is that all affected municipalities agree the bridge is “important.”

The aging steel span across the Schuylkill River was closed to traffic six days ago as unsafe. Montgomery County estimates it will take about two months to know what to fix, and how much it will cost.
