POTTSTOWN PA – Be inspired by history, and create a unique printed kerchief too!, during Pottsgrove Manor’s Block Printing Workshop to be held March 21 (2020; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Montgomery County historic site, 100 W. King St. The activity is intended for participants age 14 and up, with a materials fee of $35.
Printed kerchiefs were worn by both men and women in the 18th century to cover their skin from the sun, protect from dust and dirt, add a layer of warmth, and as a splash of personality and color to their wardrobe.
Learn the history of kerchiefs, and then how to make your own using period techniques, from April Thomas, owner of Fashions Revisited in Rossville PA. From floral patterns to hearts and circles, each participant will be able to take home a finished kerchief to add to their modern and historic closets.
Space is limited. Registration information is available on the Pottsgrove Manor website, here. Registration forms with payment (cash, check, or money order accepted) must be postmarked by March 14. Participants are asked to bring a bagged lunch. For more information, call 610-326-4014.
