UPPER PROVIDENCE PA – A Bechtelsville (Berks County) PA woman is being sought by Upper Providence Township police, who on Wednesday (Aug. 28, 2019) said they obtained a warrant for her arrest on four separate felony charges related to the alleged theft of more than $2,400 from a township victim.
Daphne Lynn Erb, age 50, is charged with access device fraud, identity theft, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property, according to a report on the police department website.
The victim, also a woman, had earlier contacted the department about “fraudulent purchases on her bank account,” the report stated. A subsequent investigation “discovered the fraudulent transactions were completed by … Erb,” the department alleged. Erb formerly was “employed by the female victim to clean her residence,” it added.
“Each of the transactions were (later) confirmed to be connected to Erb,” police stated, and a warrant was issued by Magisterial District Judge Richard H. Welsh.
Anyone with information on Erb’s whereabouts is asked to call the department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 610-933-7899, or anonymously submit a tip on the department website, here.
