Responding to the incident, police found Rashaan Rodgers, age 28, of Pottstown, wounded at the scene. “The wounds are not believed to be life-threatening,” police Capt. Robert Thomas indicated. Rodgers was initially treated by officers at the scene, then by emergency medical service responders, and transported by Goodwill Ambulance to a nearby hospital trauma unit. He is in stable condition, Thomas added.
Based on witness accounts, police reported they are looking for an alleged assailant described as a black male, about 5-feet-4-inches in height, with a “thin build.” A second male also “was seen running from the area, but it is unknown at this time if that male was involved in the incident, according to a department media release.
“The incident evolved,” it said, “from an arranged meeting which led to a confrontation and shots being fired by a single suspect … After the incident, the suspect initially fled on foot, and then possibly left the area in a vehicle.” It was described as a four-door Audi, silver in color, with dark-tinted windows.
