LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Lane closures are expected this week on U.S. Route 422 in both directions, between Township Line Road in Limerick and Park Road in Lower Pottsgrove, for construction activities to a $7.5 million rehabilitation of pavement and repair of seven structures along a 5-mile section of the highway between its Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges.
So long as weather permits, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, drivers should anticipate:
- The left lane and shoulder on eastbound 422 are scheduled to close today (Monday, July 15) and Tuesday and Friday (July 16 and 19), from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for concrete patching;
- Right-lane shoulder and ramp restrictions are scheduled on eastbound 422 Wednesday and Thursday (July 17-18), from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for concrete patching;
- The left lane and shoulder on westbound 422 are scheduled to close Thursday (July 18), from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge repair; and
- The right lane and shoulder on westbound 422 are scheduled to close Friday (July 19), from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge repair.
Additionally, lane restrictions will also be in place today and Tuesday on eastbound 422 between its Egypt Road and Route 363 interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships, from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving operations.
Construction is expected to be completed in December.
