SWAT Serves ‘High-Risk’ Warrants In Pottstown

Arrest warrant subjects Makael Bevins, top left, and Ahnile Fountain are wanted in relation to an alleged attempted murder that occurred March 24 at 552 West St. in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown police, during different and separate events Friday (April 5, 2019), said they relied upon services of the West Team of Montgomery County Special Weapons And Tactics to serve “high risk” search warrants at addresses on North Adams Street and High Street in the borough. An arrest warrant also was served at the High Street location; two people were taken into custody there.

One case dealt with alleged attempted murder; the second, with alleged armed robbery, according to a media statement released at mid-day Friday by the police department.

The first SWAT team incursion occurred at 70 N. Adams St., where a search warrant was “served without incident,” police said. Its time was not indicated. The search was in relation to a case involving Ahnile Fountain, who is wanted for attempted murder and related charges in connection to a shooting that occurred March 24 (Sunday) at 552 West St.

“Fountain was not located at the time of the search,” the statement acknowledged.

Both Fountain, 19,  and another individual, Makael Bevins, also 19, (photos at top) are subjects wanted under arrest warrants signed Thursday (April 4) by Pottstown Magisterial District Justice Scott Palladino for their alleged involvement in the shooting, as well for other offenses. Police Chief Mick Markovich asked anyone who knows the whereabouts of, or has information on, Bevins and Fountain to call police at 610-970-6570.

“We will not be releasing any further information regarding the (shooting) case at this time,” Markovich said in an e-mail that identified the pair. Their names were not previously announced.

The second incursion came the same morning (again, no time was indicated) to serve search and arrest warrants at Apt. 4 in 410 High St. The search was related “to drug sales,” the department said; the arrest warrants were for Roland Tinsley, 31, and Michelle Lopez-Perez, 24, both of Pottstown. They are being charged for participation in an alleged armed robbery that recently occurred in the borough.
