Four Arrested In Borough Stabbing Incident

POTTSTOWN PA – Four female suspects – three adults and one juvenile – have been arrested by Pottstown police for aggravated assault and related charges in connection with the Wednesday (March 20, 2019) stabbing of a borough man in an area outside 421 E. High St., the police department reported in a media statement.

Taken into custody, the department said, were Nashay Zanayah Walker, age 18; Candace Nzingha Borders, 21; Tiera Lanay Griffy, 23; and a juvenile whose name and age were not disclosed.

Police allege the four were involved in the stabbing of victim Jorge Flores, 33, of Pottstown. Police were called by Pottstown Hospital on Wednesday night at about 10:30 after Flores arrived for medical treatment of “several stab wounds to the upper body,” police said. Flores currently is listed in stable condition, according to police, after being treated in Pottstown and then being flown to an area trauma unit.

In its Monday (Match 25) statement, the department said the four were arrested as a result of its investigation and subsequent identification of the suspects. All were arraigned and detained at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA on $250,000 bail each, it said.

Walker, Borders, and Griffy, according to magisterial district court documents, are charged with four separate counts of aggravated assault, two counts of making terroristic threats, four counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and possession of a weapon. Charges against the juvenile were not disclosed.

The adults are scheduled for April 12 preliminary hearings in the borough courtroom of Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr.
