DOUGLASSVILLE PA – Tower Health Urgent Care offices across Pennsylvania and Delaware, including those in Douglassville, Limerick, and Oaks PA, treated nearly 500 people for influenza-like illnesses during January, the health care provider reported Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2019).
Flu symptoms often manifest suddenly, in the form of fever or chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, or fatigue,” the company said. “During flu season everyone should be deliberate about implementing preventative measures, such as getting a flu shot, frequent hand washing, and properly covering coughs and sneezes, its chief medical officer Dr. Hazel Bluestein added.
“If you have not currently received the flu shot there is still time,” she said. “If you do experience flu-like symptoms, it is important to make sure you get the necessary rest and medical treatment needed to keep it from spreading.”
Tower said its facilities were stocked with flu vaccines and could administer them for a fee without an appointment.
