Arrest Follows Walnut Ridge Fight, Threat

SANATOGA PA – A preliminary hearing for an 18-year-old Pottstown man who faces multiple charges resulting from an alleged fight and property damage in Walnut Ridge Estates is scheduled Thursday (Feb. 14, 2019) in the Pottstown courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr., according to court docket sheets and the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department.

Charged is Mumin Khalik Slaughter II, who faces two counts each of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and disorderly conduct; and one count each of possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief, public drunkenness, underage drinking/possession of alcohol, and making terroristic threats.

Judge Albert Augustine, who presided at Slaughter’s preliminary arraignment, committed him to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA after he was unable to post cash bail set at $5,000.

On its CrimeWatch website, the department reported its officers responded Feb. 5 (Tuesday) to a fight in progress at Walnut Ridge, where one of the victims involved and a friend had been outside when a group including Slaughter “came up to them and started harassing them.” Slaughter “picked up a piece of wood and threw it at the victims window, breaking it,” they added.

Slaughter then “threatened one of the victims and hit the other,” police said. “A struggle ensued and one victim was struck several more times. The second victim then jumped in to help her friend and she was also struck several times by the suspect.”

Finally, officers reported, “the suspect threatened to come back and shoot them.” They later located Slaughter at his home, and arrested him there.
