BOYERTOWN PA – Here’s your chance to be a star, sort of, in moving pictures.
Extras are needed for a movie that’s being filmed aboard and around the Colebrookdale Railroad, according to a message from Building A Better Boyertown Manager Adrianne Blank in Friday’s (Jan. 18, 2019) edition of its “The Bear Facts” newsletter. The film is set during the winter of 1912, it said, and the extras will serve as passengers on the train.
Filming day is Jan. 29 (Tuesday), and extras should be prepared to arrive by 10:30 a.m. and be released by 6:15 p.m. They must be available for the entire time. Each will be paid $50, and lunch will be provided. They’re being asked to come dressed in clothing or a costume of the period (see the photo above as an example).
If you rent a costume for the purpose, the film company will pay a reimbursement of up to $30, but only upon presentation of a receipt. Looking for someplace to find the right duds? Try a thrift shop or, in a pinch, a costume store, the article suggests. It recommends Drop Me A Line, 1050 Lehigh St., Allentown PA 18103, phone 610-435-7481.
If you’re interested, send an e-mail to Sarah@colebrookdalerailroad.com. It requests that you include your full name and the best phone number to contact you. Got questions? Add them to the e-mail “and someone will get back to you,” it added.
