NORTH COVENTRY PA – A 61-year-old Chester Springs PA man was charged Sunday (Dec, 30, 2018) with driving under the influence of alcohol, and an additional traffic violation, following a vehicular stop conducted by North Coventry police on the 1400 block of South Hanover Street, the department’s website reported.
Garth Poitras was operating a gray-colored Ford Fusion when officers pulled his vehicle over, it added. The time of the incident was not specified. During the course of the investigation, officers allegedly determined Poitras “was operating his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” the report stated.
Poitras was subsequently arrested. He “submitted to a chemical test of his breath,” which determined his blood alcohol content to be higher than allowed, it said. He was later processed and released to a sober adult pending a preliminary hearing in the Ridge Road courtroom of Magisterial District Justice John Hipple.
