POTTSTOWN PA – Lane closures on Route 100 are anticipated next week in the borough of Pottstown and North Coventry Township as a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation contractor engages in what it described as “attenuator repair.” Attenuators are electronic devices often used to reduce the strength of radio or audio signals.
Scheduled are left-lane closures in both north- and southbound directions Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2019) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Route 100 between Shoemaker Road and U.S. 422. Similar attenuator repairs will be conducted Thursday (Jan. 10) on Interstate 676 in Philadelphia, PennDOT stated.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Slowdowns will occur, PennDOT said. The work schedule of contractor Long Fence Company Inc. of Phoenixville will depend on weather conditions, it added.
The work is part of a $3.5 million project to repair attenuators across the Philadelphia region.
