Pottstown Man Arrested In Alleged Purse Theft

ROYERSFORD PA – A 58-year-old Pottstown man is awaiting a February 2019 appearance in a Montgomery County court on theft-related charges, brought by Upper Providence Township police, after they investigated a complaint from an elderly female victim who reported her purse was either missing at or stolen from Parkhouse Nursing Rehabilitation Center, 1600 Black Rock Rd.

Gregory Paschall, whose address was listed on magisterial district justice docket sheets as East High Street, Pottstown, was arrested and charged with theft of lost or mislaid property, and receiving stolen property, according to the police department website.

Police said the missing purse report was submitted during August (2018). Video surveillance footage from Parkhouse, and the discovery of a purse at a Chester County retail location, became part of their investigation, they indicated. A male, who the department said was later identified as Paschall, appeared in videos from both locations. Police later alleged Paschall “took the purse from Parkhouse without the victim’s knowledge,” the web report stated.

Paschall was arrested Sept. 20 and had been scheduled for a Dec. 17 preliminary hearing before Justice Richard H. Welsh in Limerick, docket sheets show, but Paschall “waived all charges filed against him to the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas,” the website added.
