They Know What Tastes Best On Their Plates

LEARNING TO EAT HEALTHIER – Students at the Pottstown School District‘s Rupert Elementary School, like Athena Richardson (left) and Arturo Qurindongo (right), are learning to make their own healthy food choices for lunch thanks to grant funding from the Salad Bars To Schools Program. The kids get to select vegetable and fruit choices from a mobile salad bar, and their selections are reinforced by good nutrition principles learned in classroom lessons, the district said last week. Learning to make healthy food choices at early ages offers students lifelong benefits, district Food Service Director Kristin Kozik added.
