Douglass (Berks) Plans Community Day Oct. 7

DOUGLASS (BERKS) PA – A fund-raising 5-K “Trestle Run” has been canceled but all other scheduled events are a “go” for the annual Community Day sponsored by Douglass (Berks) Township, filled with free family activities and fun Oct. 7 (2017; Saturday), according to the township website.

From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the grounds around the township municipal building, 1068 Douglass Dr., will be buzzing with a moon bounce, pony rides, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, games and prizes, face-painting, and the ability to explore a fire truck for kids. Their parents can enjoy that entertainment too, as well as music provided by a DJ; vendor, yard sale, and craft booths provided by local merchants, churches and individuals, and a food drive to assist Boyertown Multi-Service.

Food available for purchase on site will be provided by a team from Relay For Life of Pottstown, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.

No reason for the run’s cancellation was offered.
