Pottstown Man Faces Counts In Alleged Dispute

NORTH COVENTRY PA – A Monday (Sept. 11, 2017) preliminary hearing is scheduled for a Pottstown man arrested on simple assault and two other charges in connection with an alleged domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the month at a residence on the 600 block of West Schuylkill Road, North Coventry police reported on their website.

Henry Walter Johnson, 26, also is charged with one count each of harassment and making a false report, according to a Chester County magisterial district court docket sheet.

Officers said they responded to “a report of a domestic assault” Sept. 1 (Friday) at about 11:30 p.m. and met with the female victim. She told police she and her fiancé, Johnson, had been involved in an argument. During it, “Johnson grabbed the victim by her hair and chest, and threw her on the bed. Police observed signs of a struggle inside the residence and injuries to the victim,” the department report stated.

Johnson was taken into custody and arraigned via video “by Magisterial District Judge Michaels in Phoenixville. He was released on $15,000 unsecured bail pending his preliminary hearing,” the department added.
