Pottstown Police Arrest Ends His ‘Vacation’

POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown police Thursday afternoon (July 13, 2017) ensured they shortened an impromptu vacation taken by an escaped Montgomery County prisoner who had been trusted to join a work release program.

Police department officers captured Tyler Catanese, whose age and home address were not provided, after a vehicle chase at about 3 p.m. in the west end of the borough near Route 100, according to a press release from Capt. Robert Thomas.

Catanese fled in a vehicle he was driving after being spotted by police. It was successfully stopped without incident on Berks Street near West Walnut Street, and Catanese was taken into custody, also without incident, according to Thomas. No injuries were reported during the event.

Catanese was wanted for escape from the county when he failed to return while on work release in February.
