NEW HANOVER PA – Overnight lane restrictions will be in effect next Monday through Friday (May 8-12, 2017) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day, on Route 663 between Hill and Knight roads across New Hanover and Upper Hanover townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported. Construction crews will be milling pavement on that section of roadway, it said. Travel on the lane will be directed by flagging.
PennDOT plans to grind away the existing roadway surface, and repave it with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadway and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface. The work is part of a $5.4 million project to repair and resurface 24 miles of state highway in Montgomery County, the agency added.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work zones. Slowdowns will occur, PennDOT said, although the contractor’s schedule depends on the weather. H & K Group Inc. of Schwenksville is the general contractor.
Milling and resurfacing of Route 663 between Knight Road and Route 29 across Upper Hanover Township and Pennsburg Borough also are part of this project, but are not currently scheduled.
