POTTSTOWN PA – A fund-raising 5-K race and one-mile fun run to benefit the Hobart’s Run neighborhood in Pottstown is scheduled for April 9 (2017; Sunday), between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the William M. Hauser Track at the far fields of The Hill School on the borough’s east end, the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department announced Friday on its Facebook page.

Labeled as “The Hobart’s Ram Run 5k,” the event is intended to help support a collaborative neighborhood improvement initiative launched by The Hill School. Its goal is to create a clean, safe, and inclusive community, strengthen Pottstown residential development, and generate positive, sustainable commercial and retail development.
The 5k course includes rolling hills. Race participants will run through the scenic Hill School campus and the east end of Pottstown, primarily in its Hobart’s Run neighborhood, and finish at the far fields with a lap around the Hauser track.
Registration for the run begins at 8 a.m., and will be followed by the 5-K at 9 .m., the fun run at 9:45 a.m., and an awards presentation at 10 a.m. in The Hill School’s Lehrman ’56 Pavilion.
Registration for the 5-K costs $20; the one-mile fun run is free. Participants can register online or submit a printable application form, here, by March 31 to receive a Hobart’s Ram Run shirt. The fee for entries received after March 31 and on race day is $25 (a shirt cannot guaranteed). Size requests will be honored to the best of the organizers’ ability, but sizes may be substituted.
