POTTSTOWN PA – Temperatures outside on Sunday (Dec. 27, 2015) may have been in the balmy 60-degree range, but the environment inside The Hill School‘s Hall-Eccleston Hockey Arena was decidedly cooler … and maybe more fun.
Dozens of Pottstown area residents spent a portion of their Sunday afternoon on ice skates, as The Hill School again this year opened its arena doors to the public. Several days of winter holiday skating have been programmed there by the borough Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is only $4 per person for up to four hours.
The inexpensive entertainment – where else can you while away your time for a dollar an hour? – remains available today (Monday, Dec. 28) through Thursday (Dec. 31), from noon to 4 p.m. daily in the arena on the school’s Beech Street campus. A final day of skating is scheduled for the same hours on Saturday, Jan. 2 (2016).
Visitors must bring their own skates and head gear; no rentals are available on site. Snacks are being sold by vendors just outside the arena doors.
The Parks and Recreation Department publicly thanked the school on Facebook for its generosity in granting access to what the department called “the finest facility in the region.”
