POTTSTOWN PA – Greater Pottstown area non-profit organizations and other local groups looking for grant funds now have access to a new collection of resources at Pottstown Regional Public Library, 500 High St., which has been accepted as a member of the Funding Information Network of the Foundation Center of New York, library Executive Director Susan Davis announced Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2013).
Bringing the network to town, she noted, was itself the result of a grant offered by the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation.
The Foundation Center is a leading authority on connecting grant-seeking non-profit organizations with philanthropic institutions, Davis said. Established in 1956, it supports a nationwide network of resource centers, like the one in the Pottstown library, that provide tools and training needed to connect grant-seekers with grant-makers.
The library now offers free access to detailed information on, and how to apply for, grants by their area of interest, geographic location, monetary amount, and other parameters. Trained staff members and computers are available to help searchers make the best use of these resources. The library also will conduct training sessions for others.
