POTTSTOWN PA – “Release: A Book of Poetry,” by life-long Pottstown resident, poet, photographer and educator Jocelyn Charles, will make its debut Oct. 26 (2013; Saturday) during a book-signing event held from 7-9 p.m. at Art Fusion 19464, 254 High St., the book’s publisher, Librascorp Publications, said Tuesday (Oct. 1).
The publisher describes “Release,” Charles’ first book of poetry, as a “verbal representation of emotion. Charles’ poems are an expression of thoughts never spoken. From hope to strength, to loves found and lost, the poems … speak to the everyday individual and the thoughts, feelings, and experiences they may have,” it said.
Charles is promoted as representing “a new generation of poets,” using “her unique experiences as a woman and African American to share reflections of love, relationships, pride, history, self-determination and strength.
A Pottstown native, Charles is a Pennsylvania State University graduate with a degree in Psychology. She is active in several youth-based organizations.
Advance reservations for the book debut are being accepted though Oct. 15 (Tuesday) at Art Fusion, and online at the author’s website, here. Light refreshments will be served.
