PROMOTING THE BEST-KEPT TOURISM SECRET AROUND – Members of the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust were on hand Sunday (Sept. 22, 2013) during the popular Carousel of Flavors event in downtown Pottstown to promote its “Secret Valley Line” (below). The non-profit organization intends to operate vintage train equipment on a formerly abandoned railroad spur between Pottstown and Boyertown as a tourist attraction and passenger line. It would offer “a magical journey into lands known only to white-tailed deer and great blue heron who call them home; once the province of pioneers and patriots, now forgotten in time,” according to its Facebook page. For more information on the trust and its need for volunteers, see its website here.
