AN EIGHTH YEAR OF SPONSORSHIP – The annual Reading Olympics Competition conducted Friday (Feb. 22, 2013) by the Pottstown School District at Rupert Elementary School benefited from the financial support of Diamond Credit Union for an eighth consecutive year, the financial institution said. Diamond, located on Medical Drive in Pottstown, provided team T-shirts and helped buy books and pay for transportation to events. Chip, Diamond’s mascot, joined the contestants in the Rupert library, then attended the competition to cheer them on. The Reading Olympics is a question-and-answer event that asks student teams to rapidly recall answers to questions pulled from 45 books. The teams now move on to the Montgomery County Reading Olympics.
