Resigning Director Praised For Her ‘Service, Commitment’
POTTSTOWN PA – Andrea Primas, executive director of the Pottstown-based YWCA Tri-County Area since 1999, has resigned her position and will be succeeded by the organization’s director of finance, Beth McGee, as interim executive director, according to an letter distributed Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) to YWCA members.
No reason was given for Primas’ departure, which board President Sharon Basile wrote took effect Jan. 21 (Monday). Basile’s letter praised Primas’ “service and commitment,” and briefly described growth programs she had initiated or overseen during the past 13-1/2 years.
“Our program directors and staff are working very hard and making every effort during this transition to ensure the association continues to run smoothly,” Basile added.
Primas had been responsible, Basile wrote, for expansion of the YWCA’s child care operations at its 315 King St. headquarters, as well as at satellite locations in western Montgomery County; the growth of its staff, implementation of several effective operating policies and procedures, and the development of three strategic plans.
The YWCA in coming weeks intends to hold “a recognition reception for colleagues and individuals … to honor Andrea’s years of service and to celebrate her dedication and loyalty,” Basile wrote. A date has not yet been announced.
