They Almost Felt Earth Move At Edgewood Elementary
WAITING FOR THE GROUND TO SHAKE AND RUMBLE – Students in the fourth-grade class of teacher Denise Schleicher at the Pottstown School District’s Edgewood Elementary School, 920 Morris St., recently huddled over model volcanoes they made during science lessons. They’re pouring in a liquid mixture that will cause their creations to “erupt.” Class members have been studying about the Earth’s surface and specifically how its landforms continue to change, in part through volcanic action. “The students enjoy this fun and exciting science project,” Schleicher said. The projects form a lasting impression, too. “Older students come back and tell us that this experiment was something that they truly enjoyed,” said school Principal Calista Boyer.
