Searching For UFOs In Pottstown? Maybe Try Here
LANGHORNE PA – An East Coast conference conducted by the Pennsylvania chapter of MUFON, the Mutual UFO (Unidentified Flying Objects) Network, is scheduled to be held Friday through Sunday (Sept. 28-30, 2012) at the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel, 400 Oxford Valley Rd. That announcement might not normally be found in The Post … but for the fact that MUFON has an interesting tie to Pottstown.
Currently headquartered in Cincinnati OH, MUFON was formed in 1969. Its founding roster consisted of many members of an earlier, Tucson AZ-based organization known as APRO, the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization.
Therein lies the Pottstown connection: APRO held its 5th symposium on June 15, 1974, in the borough. Its 22-page conference proceedings are on file in the Library of Congress.
Tickets to the full schedule of this weekend’s events in Langhorne cost $135, but if you’re so inclined the cost of individual activities ranges from only $20 to $40. Find more information here, or call 215-269-3408.
