STORMY WEATHER BREWING – Strong thunderstorms that affected most of southeastern Pennsylvania, western New Jersey, and the eastern shore of Maryland took their toll on the Pottstown area as well Saturday afternoon (Sept. 8, 2012). Winds gusting between 30 and 60 mph in some places drove the heavy rain down on unwary pedestrians and drivers, and prompted the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm warning for Berks, Montgomery and Chester counties. Local resident Kylee shot this photo of the approaching storm from Route 100 South, with her lens aimed east toward High Street, and sent it off via Twitter to 6ABC-TV’s weatherman Adam Joseph in Philadelphia.
