POTTSTOWN PA – An outdoor community worship service planned by and involving participation from seven Greater Pottstown area churches is scheduled to be held Sunday (Sept. 2, 2012) beginning at 10 a.m. in Shenkel Grove, 1580 Shenkel Rd., according to organizers. The event is open to the public.
A joint church choir will be featured, and participation in it also is open. Rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Shenkel United Church of Christ social hall.
The service will include members of Shenkel and St. John’s United Churches of Christ, Still Waters Church, Cedarville, Salem, and Temple United Methodist Churches, and the First Baptist Church. Its theme is “The Welfare of the City,” with reflections on Jeremiah 29:4-7. A special offering will be collected to support the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities.
Those who attend are asked to bring lawn chairs or beach blankets on which to sit. Refreshments will follow.
