POTTSTOWN PA – The second annual “Books and Brushes, Beef and Beer” fund-raiser to benefit The Gallery School of Pottstown and the Pottstown Regional Public Library will be held next Saturday (Aug. 11, 2012) from 6-9 p.m. at the Ballroom on High, 310 High St., with all proceeds being used for programs of and operations at both organizations.
Grumpy’s, a popular Pottstown restaurant, will be catering, and master of ceremonies Pete LaRosa is donating his time and talents. The Ballroom, located next to the Farmer’s Market, also is home to SwingKats, so guests should be prepared to dance their night away, organizers said.
Tickets cost $20, and include hot roast beef sandwiches, pasta and veggie salads, beer and soft drinks, and homemade desserts. Vegetarian wrap sandwiches also will be available. Tickets are available only until Aug. 7 and can be purchased online from the Gallery On High; or in person at the school, 254 High St., or the library, 500 High St. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The Gallery School of Pottstown is a non-profit community art school and gallery. It offers day, evening and weekend classes to help students develop their creative skills through self-expression and independence. The accompanying gallery hosts rotating shows featuring local artists, and sells handcrafted, one-of-a-kind gift items.
