Rub-a-dub-dub, there’s a pooch in the tub … clean for a good cause
POTTSTOWN PA – The folks with Pottstown’s Bark For Life, who raise funds to benefit the American Cancer Society, surely think of this event as the ultimate two-fer: Double Dip Dog Day, they call it.
It’s coming July 15 (2012; Sunday) from 1-4 p.m. at the Coventry Ice Cream Parlor, 653 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown.

Bring your dog in that day and treat it (for a small fee, of course, which goes to the society), to a cooling, good-smelling bath and – for a little more – extra brushing, properly groomed nails and added pampering by Old English Grooming of Limerick. That’s Dip One.
Then, because there’s an ice cream parlor immediately nearby, Fido will enjoy something cold, sweet and scrumptious too, for free. That’s Dip Two. Oh, you say you want ice cream as well? OK, make it a three-fer, with the knowledge that the parlor’s proceeds from its product sales that day also will be donated to the society.
Volunteers are being sought to help on Double Dip Dog Day with set-up, registration, Bark Retail, washing, and as doggie valets. Send an e-mail to volunteer coordinator Lindy Rolston, here, or Joanne Smith, here, to offer assistance.
