POTTSTOWN PA – A Pottstown area community interactive art picnic, intended to provide a forum for artists, musicians, crafters, and artisans of all sorts to share their work and talents with their neighbors, is being planned for May 5 (2012; Saturday) by the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority, the Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos, and the Pottstown Arts and Cultural Alliance.
The interactive arts event, scheduled for 12:30-3:30 p.m. on High Street between Borough Hall and the Farmers’ Market, will help re-introduce Pottstown First Saturday events being planned throughout the summer.
Artists of all media and levels of expertise are invited to engage with guests by not only displaying their talents, but by allowing them to participate and learn as well. Downtown merchants also will present a variety of ways to bring the day’s theme – “Cinco De Mayo” – into the festivities, according to organizer Daniel Dilliplane.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and tear down equipment to be used during the day. For more information or to volunteer, send an e-mail, here.
