Go Take A Hike. Monocacy Hill’s The Place, Next Week

DOUGLASSVILLE PA – Punxsutawney Phil got his weather prediction wrong, according to members of the Monocacy Hill Conservation Association. Winter’s gone, they say; spring has already arrived, and they want area residents to go take a hike.

Monocacy Hill Recreation Area in Douglassville, the group figures, will be a perfect spot for one next week.

The association’s first organized spring hike of 2012 is scheduled for March 18 (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. Those interested can join other hikers assembled at the area’s Geiger Road parking lot.

Weather-appropriate clothing and proper hiking footwear are recommended.
