POTTSTOWN PA – “Get Moving at the Pottstown YMCA,” a healthy living and weight loss program that supports the locally growing “Lose For Life” initiative and is conducted in partnership with the Pottstown Health and Wellness Foundation, got under way in recent weeks at the Pottstown branch of the Freedom Valley YMCA, Adams and Jackson streets.
“Get Moving” was developed by the YMCA to coincide with Lose For Life, a fund-raising program to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Participants hope to reach healthy living and weight loss goals they’ve set for themselves through the end of May.
Each month, four sessions are offered at the Pottstown YMCA with a focus on exercise (yoga, body toning, core training, walking, cycling) and nutrition (healthy cooking, healthy choices). Montgomery County’s Health Department also has joined “Get Moving” to offer classes on the role that diet plays in cancer prevention.
This program is made possible through a grant from the foundation. For more information about Lose For Life or Relay For Life, call Larry Hutchison at 484-919-1157; for more information on “Get Moving,” call Lynn Seponski at 610-323-7300.
