Blighted Property Committee Sets Meeting Dates

POTTSTOWN PA – Borough council’s Blighted Property Review Committee, which has won praise for helping Pottstown identify and begin or enforce clean-up of properties sometimes unfit for habitation of any kind, used an advertisement Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2012) in The (Pottstown PA) Mercury newspaper to announce its meeting schedule for 2012.

The Mercury serves as the publication of record for borough legal notices.

Committee members plan to meet on the fourth Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. in the council chamber room on the third floor of borough hall, 100 High St., Pottstown PA, the ad said. There are two exceptions, however; the committee will meet on the third Thursdays of November (Nov. 15) and December (Dec. 20).

Be forewarned: committee members occasionally trek out to properties placed on their list to determine if they need to be labeled as blighted and therefore merit the attention of borough administrators. Those in the public who attend a meeting might want to wear sturdy shoes.
