Car Show In Limerick Will Benefit Pottstown Resident

LIMERICK PA – Forget the cold. Skip the snow. Members of two area car clubs, Wicked Effects in Boyertown and Pottstown Classics in Pottstown, say they’ll unite to stage a Dec. 31 (2011; Saturday) car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rubright Racing, 826 N. Lewis Rd., Limerick PA, to help raise money to pay the medical bills of a Pottstown man diagnosed with cancer, The Pottstown Patch online news service reported Friday (Dec. 23, 2011).

Scott Grebe, 43, who lives in the borough with his family and has several car enthusiast friends, is struggling to make ends meet. He’s been documenting his experiences and trials on his Facebook page, and his sense of humor and “raw, human honesty” has attracted local attention, The Patch wrote. That prompted the car show as a response to help.

Mark Rubright, owner of Rubright Racing, offered his facility for the show. Boobie Nation, a local non-profit group that raises money and awareness to fight cancer; the Pottstown Classics Car Club, and Trophy-n-Plaque Shack of Pottstown are helping to publicize and organize the event led by Wicked Effects.

The show is free and open to all, but especially those who have domestic muscle cars, foreign customized cars, trucks and of the drag strip street eliminator class. Participants are encouraged “to make as generous a donation as they can.”
