POTTSTOWN PA – An attorney for a Pottstown woman was said to have filed a civil lawsuit Thursday (Nov. 3, 2011) in federal court, alleging his client was harassed while working at the Kohl’s Department Store in Quakertown PA and later was wrongly terminated from her position, The Pennsylvania Record online legal news service reported Monday (Nov. 7).

Her resulting “emotionally deteriorated” state required hospitalization, Mae-Lene Miller claimed in a civil action filed by Trenton NJ attorney Mark D. Laderman of the Lamensky, Cohen & Riechelson law firm at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, The Record said.

Miller reportedly seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages as well as legal costs and interest. A jury trial is sought. The federal case number is 2:11-cv-06889-MAM, according to the report.

The Record newspapers in Pennsylvania, Illinois, West Virginia, Texas and Louisiana, and Legal Newsline, are said to be owned by the Institute for Legal Reform, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
